Ein Amylalkohol ist einer von acht Alkoholen mit der Formel C 5 H 12 O. Eine Mischung von Amylalkoholen (auch Amylalkohol genannt) kann aus Fuselalkohol erhalten werden . Amylalkohol wird als Lösungsmittel und bei der Veresterung verwendet , wodurch Amylacetat und andere wichtige Produkte hergestellt werden. Der Name Amylalkohol ohne weitere Angabe gilt für die normale (geradkettige) Form, 1-Pentanol .
