Giovanni Battista Lampugnani - Giovanni Battista Lampugnani
Giovanni Battista Lampugnani (ca. 1708 - 2. Juni 1786) war ein in Mailand geborener italienischer Komponist . Er studierte in Neapel, wo er 1732 sein Debüt als Opernkomponist gab. 1743 ging er nach London , um die Oper von Baldassare Galuppi am King's Theatre zu übernehmen , kehrte aber bald nach Mailand zurück. Lampugnani wurde später 1779 am Teatro alla Scala Maestro al Cembalo ("Meister des Cembalos") .
Lampugnani schrieb zu seinen Lebzeiten dreißig Opern, darunter Semiramide (1741), Rossane, Tigrane (1747), Artaserse , Siroe (1755) und L'amor contadino (1760). Er komponierte auch einige nicht-opernhafte Stücke, z. B. Triosonaten und Kirchenmusik.
Er ist in Mailand gestorben.
