Die Jefferson County Library Cooperative ( JCLC ) ist ein 501 (c) (3) steuerfrei Bildungs Konsortium von öffentlichen Bibliotheken in Jefferson County, Alabama . Das JCLC- Verwaltungsbüro befindet sich in der Birmingham Public Central Library . Die Mitgliedsbibliotheken innerhalb der Genossenschaft sind autonom , wobei jede ihren eigenen Vorstand , Direktor und ihr eigenes Budget unterhält .
Geschichte
Jefferson County hat seit 1924 einen landesweiten öffentlichen Bibliotheksdienst. Der gebührenfreie Dienst für Bürger von Jefferson County begann jedoch 1978. 1985 wurde er im Rahmen des vom Alabama Public Library Service herausgegebenen Rahmens in Birmingham Area Library Services umstrukturiert . 1997 wurde es in Jefferson County Library Cooperative umbenannt und arbeitet weiterhin als gemeinnützige Bildungsorganisation.
